The Story of our Double Nobilis Cork
The Story of our Double Nobilis Cork
Before the dome existed, there was a desire: the desire to create something that truly made sense. Something that respected nature and allowed people to reconnect with it.
At Eco Geodetic, architecture and engineering never stand alone. They are guided by human experience: conversation, debate, the ideas that arise from the perspective of those who want to build something better than yesterday.
We have gathered so many times around the same question: What should the next great dome be?
Each person had a vision: “more comfortable,” said the salesperson; “more sustainable,” pointed out the engineer; “more beautiful,” said the lady who passed by. Until we realized that we didn’t have to choose. We could combine everything.
And the answer lay in our own land: in the wood that sustains us and the cork that has protected us for centuries.
That’s why we went back to the source.
We visited those who tend the cork oak forest, touched the cork with our hands, and realized that there lay the wisdom of nature: a material that breathes, that insulates, that endures.
A material made of time and care.
We returned certain that the new dome would not be just another product. It would be a refuge with a Portuguese soul.
Thus was born Double Nobilis Cork: two layers of wood embracing the cork, triangles that welcome us, light that enters to become part of life and not to take us away from it.
Each piece is conceived, touched, and installed by real people. By teams who believe that architecture can be responsible, human, and inspiring. And when a Double Nobilis Cork arrives in a place, it’s not just a dome that gets installed.
It’s a new story that begins. A story of those who will live there, dream there, feel the world there, with all their senses awakened.
Double Nobilis Cork
The dome that transforms land into destinations.
And destinations into lasting memories.
